Iran Warns US Against Military Action Amid Ongoing Protests

Iran warns US not to launch military action as activists say protest death toll near 6,000 | AfricanewsAs tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate, Iranian authorities have unveiled a stark warning to Washington: do not attempt to strike our country. The message comes in the form of a new mural in central Tehran, featuring damaged planes on an aircraft carrier against the backdrop of an American flag.

Iran's Warning to the US
The painting bears the slogan 'If you sow the wind, you will reap the whirlwind,' in both Farsi and English. This ominous message is a clear indication that Iran is not backing down in the face of growing tensions with the US. The mural has sparked widespread attention, with many interpreting it as a direct warning to President Trump's administration.

Protest Death Toll Surpasses 5,000
Meanwhile, human rights activists have confirmed that over 5,800 people have been killed during the recent wave of protests in Iran. This includes 5,520 protesters, 77 minors, 209 members of the security forces, and 42 bystanders. The group also reports that at least 41,283 people have been arrested, with another 17,091 possible fatalities still under investigation.

US Threats and Military Build-Up
In response to Iran's crackdown on protesters, President Trump had threatened military intervention if Tehran continued to kill peaceful protesters or carried out mass executions of those detained. The US has since moved an aircraft carrier towards the region 'in case' it decides to take action. However, the head of Iran's Revolutionary Guard has warned that his force is 'more ready than ever, finger on the trigger.'

As tensions between Iran and the US continue to rise, one thing is clear: both sides are digging in their heels. The question now is what will happen next. Will President Trump follow through on his threats, or will diplomacy prevail? Only time will tell.
